It is always a wonderful celebration when we welcome a new member to our Catholic Faith and parish community! Congratulations to baby Ezekiel on his Baptism this past Sunday. As a faith community, we promise to support his family in helping to guide him in his faith and spiritual life.
"This Sunday’s readings speak very directly to much of what is going on today. There is such a great need to transform society so the many needy and hurting people can have the minimum they need to think of themselves as beloved. The ideal would be that every follower of Jesus would find one ministry to be involved with in an effort to help meet the glaring needs of so many. The idea is to provide hope and reassurance that the future will provide plenty of experiences about which we can rejoice because of our cooperation with God to bring about greater sharing of material and spiritual blessings as well as establishing policies that will insist on people being treated with the dignity and respect due them as God’s cherished creation." ~ Fr. Roman Treasure Fest 2019 is upon us! DONATION DROP OFF BEGINS TUES. JULY 9th 9am-Noon For more information: http://www.divinesavior.com/o/news/?id=301
“Our more recent technological advances have provided us with three dimensional creations. These images help us to be more aware of the complexity and intricacies of life. And yet, wonderful as this development is, our reflection on three persons in one God is not only so much richer but is the kind of mystery that it will take an eternity to come to appreciate. For now, it is such a great pleasure to reflect on a few words from our first reading: “I found delight in the human race.” Hopefully, as we reflect on God’s experience of us, we can grow to be more comfortable with how God sees us so that in turn we can build bridges and connections based on our seeing the good within ourselves and one another. Guided by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and inspired by the wonderful works of Jesus, we honor our heavenly Father by treating each other as God’s precious and cherished people.” ~ Fr. Roman Happy Father’s Day! May these incredible men continue to be blessed as they support and guide their children physically and spiritually.
In the spirit of the holy day of Pentecost, Divine Savior was truly enlightened by the Holy Spirit as the many rich cultures that make up Divine Savior took part in a very special mass and fellowship afterwards. The 11:30 mass saw native dance and dress, as well as readings proclaimed in native languages including Aramaic, Spanish, Polish, Nigerian dialects, and Tagalog. And what better way to "experience" these cultures than having a taste of international foods right after mass? A huge thanks to Fr. Marcel and Fr. Roman for allowing this event to be possible as well as the many volunteers who helped to coordinate the day's events as well as proudly promoting their rich heritage! In case you missed this event, the entire mass was livestreamed and saved and can be viewed by scrolling down to our previous post. Have a great week!
Pentecost multicultural celebration 2019
The beautiful faith community that is Divine Savior is made up of many cultures. This diversity, united in Christ, will be celebrated at this Sunday's 11:30 multi-lingual, Pentecost mass (June 9). Many will be dressed in native attire, readings will be in different languages, and mass will be followed by festivities in the gym, featuring a "Taste of International Foods" This inaugural event is not to be missed! Please contact Fr. Marcel for more information: [email protected] (Featured in this post are scenes from last year's Pentecost mass, Divine Savior's Guadalupe Society and Filipino Ministry. Divine Savior is made up of around 25 cultural groups!)

No cost! Free popcorn! See you there!
E-Waste Event **Postponed** We hoped to have an E-Waste drop-off in June, but need to postpone it. If you want to dispose of your E-Waste, https://www.calrecycle.ca.gov lists local businesses that accept E-Waste. We hope to reschedule a drop-off at a future time. Stay tuned!
"This Sunday’s second reading is from the Book of Revelation. John, its writer, has a vision of how everything will turn out for those who do their best to imitate the example of love that Jesus set. In this vision, he sees that all those who remain faithful to God regardless of the degree of suffering and anguish they endure, will be blessed to experience a total transformation into goodness and grace. These determined people will experience fully how God is with us His people and how we choose to do out best to live as God’s people. God may be the creator of the vast and magnificent universe, but our hope rests as well on the reality that our God is so personal, intimate and caring that He will wipe away the tears from our eyes." ~ Fr. Roman Mark your calendars for Pentecost Sunday, June 9th for a Cultural day of Celebration at Divine Savior! The celebration will begin at the 11:30am Liturgy and follow with festivities in the gym. The aim of this celebration is to celebrate the cultural & ethnic diversity we have in our parish family. There will be a world map in the vestibule to identify all the groups. We are looking for volunteers to help in the Liturgy, set up the gym, greeters and servers. Feel free to contact Fr. Marcel at [email protected] if you have any suggestions to help make this celebration great!
Happy Mother's Day! We honored all our moms today through a special blessing at the end of mass. They also received a flower from the children of our parish! "In today’s Gospel, Jesus states that He knows us and that we follow Him, if we hear His voice. How easy or how difficult is it to hear Jesus’ voice in a world filled with the amount of sound that we encounter on a regular basis? Can we be an example to others of how one creates the time and opportunities to be calm enough to hear the gentle voice of Jesus? Can we develop other ways by which we can listen to one another and help each other determine with some certainty that we are in fact hearing the voice of Jesus? Affirming each other in this process, can we be the voice of Jesus for our church and world today as we do our part to call one another to choose to do that which brings us true fulfillment because we are living out God’s plan?" ~ Fr. Roman
At the 11:30 mass, we celebrated the Sacrament of First Communion with 11 more children of our Parish. We are committed to continue to support and guide them and their families in their faith journey! Sharon will be emailing the families the link to ALL the photos taken.

Palm Sunday Psalm. Sometimes we are like the people who triumphantly enter into Jerusalem waving palm branches and cheering. In our liturgy this cheering turns quickly to jeering and taunting. Are we overt, cheering or jeering , going along with others' actions, or are we more subtle, like the palm bearers in the video, who simply quietly remove themselves when the situation or promise becomes a little more intense than we had presumed? Do we sometimes feel abandoned, that those who love us are not strong enough to stand strong with us, when our own strength wanes? Grant us the strength to stay strong in the face of adversity, and allow us to let love be the force greater than any storm, that roots us more firmly than any other force on earth. (A big thank you to lector Bob Healy and cantor Jim Hartley, our choir and palm bearers, our pastor Fr. Roman Mueller and associate pastor Fr. Marcel Emeh, environment coordinator Michelle Grotemyer, and all who make these liturgies come alive. )
This weekend’s Gospel of the Raising of Lazarus was re-enacted at our 11:30 mass.
